The Moody Crewe

We are a group of local pirates from Hampton Roads, Virginia who portray the crew of Captain Christopher Moody, a pirate who operated off the SE North American Coast between 1718 - 1720.  He eventually joined up as part of Bartholomew Roberts crew before meeting his end at the gallows.  We specialize in educational programs concentrating on the Golden Age of Piracy.  We do school and library programs and occasional museum work (Mariner's Museum in Newport News, National Maritime Museum in Norfolk and the Old Coast Guard Station in Virginia Beach).  We also donate our services to local charity events and fundraisers.  We are in high demand at many of the area festivals and set up our Goose & Bull Tavern to give visitors a taste of a pirate's favorite hang out, complete with mouthy tavern wenches!  We also offer a "School of the Pirate" where we teach little scallywags some of the basic skills needed to crew a sailing vessel. We do programs mainly in Virginia and NC.
